Revival of The Show
A beloved South Korean documentary show has officially made its return after 4 years of stoppage. On April 6, 2026, Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) revived its popular documentary series, “Documentary 3 Days,” bringing back a unique program consisting of ordinary lives of people.
Documentary 3 Days originally started to broadcast in 2007, showing many stories of extraordinary people in the filmed area over a 72-hour period. However, the COVID-19 pandemic situation severely restricted the program’s production crew’s ability to film in public spaces, forcing them to stop their program on March 13, 2022.
The absence of the show left an impact in the media industry, resulting in a petition from over 1,000 people demanding its return. According to reports from The Chosun Ilbo, these large petitions from the viewers gave a spark in the production team’s hearts, greatly influencing the resume of the program once again.

The team chose to revisit Bus No. 273 running in Seoul, famously known as the “Youth Bus” because of its route across the city’s major universities. The show previously covered this exact route 14 years ago. The revival contrasted the passions and anxieties of students from over a decade ago with the vivid, contemporary voices of the 2026 youth who are currently navigating a fast-changing world newly influenced by the rise of AI.
The episode featured touching moments, such as unexpectedly encountering a bus driver whose late father had briefly appeared on screen during the original broadcast 14 years ago.
The Power of Reality
On the day of the broadcast, Jo Na-eun, a producer at the KBS Current Affairs and Culture division, gave an interview with major news networks to highlight the strengths, emotional depth, and structural creativity that define the revived program.
